About Similan Islands

Here are some of the most beautiful and diverse diving and snorkeling spots in Thailand, day trips and liveaboards to the islands are among the most popular in the world.

There are nine islands of granite rocks, some with lush tropical vegetation, lapped by crystal clear waters and some with fine white sandy beaches.

The islands stretch like a string of pearls 25 kilometers north to south in the Andaman Sea and lie 65 kilometers off the coast of Phang Nga province.
They were declared a marine national park in 1982.

The Similans are ideal for observing or photographing small fish due to their enormous biodiversity of tropical reef fish. But there are not only small fish here, but also leopard, white and black tip sharks are not uncommon; manta rays and whale sharks can also be observed. One can visit Similan National Park on day trips from mid-October to mid-May, but the best conditions are found from November to April.

All guests will be picked up at the hotel and taken by taxi to the pier at Nam Khem, north of Khao Lak.

Weather & Sea Conditions
Between November and January – especially around Christmas and New Years – steady northerly winds regularly create short bumpy waves, which can make parts of the boat rides uncomfortable. Although this does not affect the safety of the boat rides, we cannot guarantee enjoyable boat rides to every individual on every given day. We experienced a wide range of individual guest reactions to these conditions. As the Family Tour and Koh Kam tour do not require the speedboat to leave sheltered waters at any time, this does apply to all tours except Family Tour and Koh Kam tours.
From February on weather and sea conditions are usually very calm and comfortable.

The tour operator reserves the right to change or adjust the itinerary of the tour if necessary due to weather changes or any other unforeseen circumstances.

Please be advised that this is a safety regulation by the Thai Department for National Parks and there is no insurance cover for individuals with these conditions whatsoever on speedboat tours!
